My FASTer Way to Fat Loss Journey

Back in the spring of 2018, I had just quit my 9-5 job and was finally looking forward to spending more time with my family and more time on myself. Over the previous 9 years, I had 3 children, worked 3 different jobs, and felt like life had been all over the place. During those 9 years, I had also tried many different ways to lose weight, have more energy and get back the confidence I had lost after becoming a mother and embarking on a rollercoaster career track. Nothing had stuck and my weight and health was on the same roller coaster my career track was (that’s another story for another day!).

Once I finally decided to stay at home with my kiddos, I vowed to myself that it was time to focus on my a little more and put my health first. I was in search of a new healthy lifestyle, one that I could sustain, and one that I ENJOYED. I had previously tried so many other programs like Whole30, The 30 Clean, The Clean Program, Beachbody, Weight Watchers, juice cleanses, and more — all which provided some initial success and all which educated me in some way, but nothing stuck for the long term. A lot of those programs and diets just left me feeling confused and more frustrated than ever before. While those programs may have worked for others, they just didn’t work for me.

I stumbled upon The FASTer Way to Fat Loss from an influencer on Instagram and read more about it. I knew nothing about carb cycling, intermittent fasting, and macro tracking. Absolutely nothing. I’m not going to lie, I was very intimidated at first but was excited to try something new. After hearing from other influencers about it and listening to more of what FASTer Way CEO, Amanda Tress, had to say about why the program works, I finally pulled the trigger and joined the program.

I jumped in 100% on my first round in April of 2018. It took me a few days to get the hang of things but I really enjoyed learning about carb cycling, intermittent fasting, and macro tracking and putting those tools into practice and I loved the at-home workouts. For the first time in years, I was lifting weights, running/walking outside, and completing HIIT workouts I never thought I would do. It changed my philosophy on eating and working out in a way that was life-changing. I loved the support of the Facebook community and connected with a lot of other moms who were going through the same thing.

My results

I started noticing within the first week that my clothes were looser, I had way more energy than I ever did, and I was so much stronger than I had been in years. While I learned to shift my focus away from the number on the scale, I do have to say that I lost 8 pounds after the first round and another 6 after the second round. My body composition totally changed. I was so much leaner and stronger because I burned fat and gained muscle, which made me slim down a ton. I couldn’t believe the results I was seeing in such a short amount of time.

Over the course of the two rounds, I realized that it wasn’t just about the number on the scale or the way my clothes were fitting. It was about my new-found confidence, the energy I had, and my shift in philosophy about what it means to be “healthy.” It wasn’t about being thin, it was about how I felt and my love for whole food nutrition and making healthy meals everyone in the house devoured.

Why I Left

I credit the FASTer Way to Fat Loss with opening my eyes to a whole new set of tools for optimum health and fitness that made me search for more. It was a journey that needed to continue for me. Health and wellness became a passion for me and I wanted to learn all I could. After completing 2 rounds of the FASTer Way to Fat Loss, I decided to pursue my health coach certification through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN).

During the certification process, I learned so much more about health and wellness — from superfoods, to plant-based nutrition, to the importance of gut health, to hundreds of dietary theories — there was so much to take in and it was overwhelming. The knowledge I gained was invaluable but I felt a little lost. When you start learning about a million different things, it can be difficult to sift through it all and find what makes sense for you. I began experimenting with a different ways of eating and I felt myself getting more and more frustrated.

Why I came Back

One of those most important things I learned through IIN is that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach for health and wellness. Everyone’s journey is different. Throughout my journey, I’ve learned that I need structure, I need a plan, and I need a solid foundation upon which to live my life and have a good relationship with food. And that’s when I decided that I needed to return to The FASTer Way to Fat Loss.

Don’t get me wrong, I certainly value what I learned through my health coach certification and use that knowledge daily, I just use that knowledge within the framework of the FASTer Way and I’ve never felt better. I’m finally off the roller coaster and living the FASTer Way to Fat Loss lifestyle daily through the VIP monthly membership program. Health and wellness is a journey and I finally feel like I’m on the right path.
