Make Your Own One Day Juice Cleanse

Need a little system reboot? A little detox? A one day juice cleanse is a great way to give your body a rest after working so hard on digesting food, especially if those foods haven’t been the cleanest! This DIY Juice cleanse is easy to make and will leaving you feeling rejuvenated — you’ll be glowing inside and out.

Juices contain nutrients that are highly concentrated, which allow your body to easily and quickly absorb everything. When you juice, you take out all of the fiber in the fruits and vegetables, so the nutrients and antioxidants go immediately into your bloodstream.

Here are some of the many of completing a one-day juice cleanse:

  1. You give your digestive track a break, allowing your body to focus more energy on ridding itself of unwanted toxins

  2. Increase your energy levels and improve your sleep

  3. Boost your immune system

  4. It encourages you to eat fruits and vegetables that you wouldn’t normally eat

  5. It will hopefully motivate you to incorporate more juicing into your life post cleanse

How to Get Started with a Juice Cleanse

  1. Make sure you have a juicer or blender. If you use a blender you can choose to drink the juice with pulp or strain the juice from the pulp using a nut milk bag.

  2. Go to the store and purchase your fruits and vegetables for the cleanse. Buy organic when possible and wash and dry everything before getting started.

  3. Set aside time to make the juice a day ahead so you are prepared for your cleanse day.

  4. Store the juice in glass containers, like these mason jars.

Your One Day Juice Cleanse Schedule

The goal is to give your body a 24-hour rest from digesting food so plan to stop eating by 8:00 PM the night before the cleanse and you’ll have a clean, simple meal at 8:00 PM the next day.

8:00 AM - Lean Green (recipe below)

10:00 AM - Beet It (recipe below)

12:00 PM - Revive (recipe below)

2:00 PM - Lean Green

4:00 PM - Beet It

6:00 PM - Calm (recipe below)

8:00 PM - Small, clean dinner like a simple salad or soup

Be sure to drink plenty of water in between in each to help keep you hydrated and curb hunger. While I encourage you to steer clear of all solid food, if you absolutely need to eat something, grab a handful of raw almonds.

The Juices

Lean Green (make 2)
2 green apples
2 celery stalks

2 celery stalks
1 beet root with greens removed
2 carrots with greens removed
1 generous handful of spinach
Juice of a lemon (you can squeeze lemon in at the end or peel the lemon and put it through the juicer)

Revive

1/2 inch ginger root
Juice of a lime (you can squeeze lime in at the end or peel the lemon and put it through the juicer)
